Craftsmanship, Experience, and Personal Stewardship
Retrophile was founded on the belief that furniture should be built, repaired, and restored with intention—never rushed, never compromised, and never treated as disposable.
Owner and craftsman Jacob brings more than twenty years of hands-on experience working with custom furniture, antique and historical restoration, and high-end designer pieces. His background includes traditional woodworking, structural repair, fine finishing, and conservation-minded restoration techniques.
Jacob and his wife Melanie, co-owners of Retrophile, live in Northern Colorado with their two sons. Deeply rooted in the region, they have built Retrophile as a reflection of their shared values: quality, integrity, and respect for craft. Outside the workshop, Jacob enjoys fly fishing Colorado’s rivers, lifting weights, and spending time with family and friends—pursuits that mirror the patience, focus, and care he brings to his work.
Each project begins with careful evaluation and thoughtful conversation. Whether creating a custom piece or restoring an heirloom, the goal is always the same: to honor the materials, preserve the integrity of the piece, and deliver work designed to last for generations.
Retrophile proudly serves clients throughout Northern Colorado with a highly personal, white-glove approach from consultation through completion.
